- This set of NHL Action Stamps was distributed throughout North America in large grocery chains such as Loblaw's, IGA, A and P, and Acme. Some of these small stickers (or stamps) mentioned the particular grocery store on back; others had blank backs. A strip of eight player stamps was given out with a grocery purchase. The stamps measured approximately 1 5/8" by 2 1/8". These unnumbered stamps were ordered below alphabetically by teams as follows, Atlanta Flames (1-18), Boston Bruins (19-36), Buffalo Sabres (37-54), California Golden Seals (55-72), Chicago Blackhawks (73-90), Detroit Red Wings (91-108), Los Angeles Kings (109-126), Minnesota North Stars (127-144), Montreal Canadiens (145-162), New York Islanders (163-180), New York Rangers (181-198), Philadelphia Flyers (199-216), Pittsburgh Penguins (217-234), St. Louis Blues (235-252), Toronto Maple Leafs (253-270), Vancouver Canucks (271-288), Kansas City Scouts (289-306), and Washington Capitals (307-324). An album was available for this set which included 20 stamps in the back. Some of the stamps (29, 57, 94, and 164) were only available in the album.
