In 1924, the Montreal Winter Sports was held from January 19 to February 23, and featured "tobogganing on the famous Park Slide, skiing on the snow-covered slopes of Mount Royal, and hockey matches between the fastest teams in North ASmerica".

If you look closely at the lower right hand corner of the stamp (right above the signature of the stamp designer, Jack J. Wilson) you can see a hockey player.
