The 1961 World Ice Hockey Championship was held in Geneva & Lausanne, Switzerland, from March 2 through March 12, 1961. There was one common cancel banner used and it was used in numerous cities. Depending on the city the cancel was either in French (Geneva or Lausanne) or German (Basel, Bern or Zurich). Also the use of the cancel started well before the first day of the tournament, March 1. The banner size was 42 mm x 20 mm and the bullseye was 23 mm in diameter.
